Help us Tell AMwA’s Herstory

Within various liberation movements, we have long decried the lack of sufficient documentation of the stories, efforts, struggles, triumphs, and hopes of marginalised people like women, indigenous communities, and other structurally excluded groups.

As a Pan African Feminist organisation, AMwA is keen to begin a herstory writing process that seeks to preserve, through documentation, the collective memory of an organisation which is home to the oldest African Women’s Leadership Institute. Through this process, we hope that our herstory” encompasses not only key decisions, notable events, and influential personnel but also the values, beliefs, and culture that form the bedrock of our identity.

This is an invitation to African women who are interested in supporting us in this process.
