From a bold dream birthed in 1985 by visionary African feminists, Akina Mama wa Afrika has grown into a vibrant, continent-wide movement—nurturing leaders, igniting resistance, and weaving futures rooted in justice, care, and collective power.

This October, we gather to honour that journey at the culmination event:

We will sing the names of our foremothers.

We will lift up each other’s stories—of courage, of growth, of transformation.
