This paper provides an anthology of the views and understandings of Illicit Financial Flows, the national, regional, international contexts in which they exist and the gendered impacts of all these factors. The paper contends that because the economy is a gendered construct, phenomena like IFFs that threaten socio-economic development
cannot be gender neutral and are often prominent agents in the cultivation and retention of conditions that foster and uphold gender inequality.
