Expertise: Marine Biodiversity

Fatima Parker-Allie started her career at South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) in biodiversity data management. She has researched two drivers of change to biodiversity i.e. invasion biology and climate change. She is currently the (SANBI) Deputy Director of Biodiversity Informatics supporting Partnerships and Cooperation. She is also managing the South African Node of the Global Biodiversity Information Facility which looks at making biodiversity data available via the internet, in support of science and policy implementation. As well as growing Biodiversity Informatics as a field of science in the country.
