Framing Africa’s Just Transition: From Extractive to Regenerative Economic and Climate Action Models

We are excited to share the comprehensive report titled: Framing Africa’s Just Transition roundtable dialogue, held on October 7th–8th, 2024, in Nairobi, Kenya. This dialogue, as a pre-event to Africa in Conversation: Reimagining to Reconstruct gathering, focused on radicalizing, reimagining, and depoliticizing African feminist alternatives for a sustainable future.

The discussions brought together a dynamic group of thought leaders—civic actors, political leaders, feminist thinkers, climate justice advocates, women’s rights activists, and academics—who collectively challenged traditional boundaries and explored transformative solutions. Together, they envisioned how Africa can transition from extractive to regenerative economic and climate action models, paving the way for a just and equitable future.
