Expertise: Conservation biologist

Hanitra Rakotonirina is a biologist, she leads a conservation programme working in Madagascar for the NGO Chances for Nature in Göttingen, Germany. Where she manages the development of conservation projects, specifically in the area of environmental education and awareness for sustainable livelihoods. Within the framework of these projects she developed and created different videos, games and posters to raise awareness for Madagascar’s biodiversity in rural populations on the island. Today, the Chances For Nature association regularly screens films advocating the importance of environmental conservation and organises training programmes based on the content of the documentaries, such as eco-improved households.
